Snafu
*Warning* This game includes significant scares, disturbing events, disturbing audio and flashing lights. Please proceed at your own volition.
What is the story behind Snafu?
You begin playing the Medieval Grow your Business Game with hopes and ambitions to make as much money as you can. Alibaba, the main NPC and caretaker of the game introduces what the game has to offer. However, as you begin to delve deeper into the world, Alibaba discovers a glitch, or virus of some sort. Something foreign has gotten into the system and has begun to terrorize everything this Medieval Grow your Business Game had to offer. NPCs begin to act strangely, textures begin to morph, and the Glitch known as Snafu begins to wonder the streets – especially at night fall. It is Alibaba’s hope that you make it to the main castle and unplug him from the game before Snafu completely takes over.
Throughout your journey, meet new NPCs and hear their tale - learn how Snafu has affected their "lives" and what you can do to ease their pains. They may not have long, anyhow...
What can I expect when I play Snafu?
Play a game within a game - It is your goal to save Alibaba from Snafu's terror; however, to reach him, you must level up, and make more money.
- You have access to over one hundred purchases,
- Raise your rank,
- Purchase your own home (Which may or may not be haunted...)
- Complete mini side-quests,
- Have access to 3 separate endings,
- And hear the stories the NPC's have to tell. It has not been easy for them, lately.
All of these steps are necessary in order to reach the Castle where Alibaba is held. You must progress through the game as originally intended with the hope to bring the Medieval Grow Your Business Game offline, for good, before Snafu can inflict any more damage. It's harsh, but sometimes when a file becomes so corrupt, you must take extreme measures...
There are many traps throughout the game you will want to avoid. But don't forget, Snafu is always watching and will toy with you until it is ready to truly take your life... It is your ambition to save Alibaba from the terrors of Snafu; however, Snafu will do its best to terrorize you along the way.
And here we are, another game... The Dev notes is usually my favorite part about writing a game's description. It usually has very little to do with the game, but rather, tells the incredible tale of developing the game... Maybe not so incredible?
As you can tell, Snafu is a significantly different approach to the style of games I am used to developing. You will usually see me create a bunch of "Realism", very scary, atmospheric games. However, with Snafu, I've taken a complete 360 and delved into Pixel & Low Polly design. I've also implemented a much larger open world than what I am used to. It's quite different, to say the least.
But, what I've also done which is quite new on my end is finally adding controller support! Super happy to be able to finally sit back, and play this thing with some random controller I may have lying around here. And, since we're talking about new things, Snafu also includes a full-on save-game system. Save the game (also auto save) and play where you've left off. I am usually very hesitant with adding save functionality to short horror games because I always fear that pausing / leaving the game for later will ruin the experience. However, Snafu has a longer play time than my average game, so I figured adding save game functionality for this title was a must. If I feel that the average play time of a game will exceed 80-100 min, I feel like I have no choice - save game it is!
Anyways, as always, I want to thank all my supporters, followers and customers. The fact that many of you all enjoy my creations truly means the world to me. As I've said many times, I will continue to build these games, experiment with new things here and there, and try to pump out the best product I can.
With that being said, I hope you enjoy what Snafu has to offer.
Cheers, everyone, and happy gaming!
